The OPPO Find X2 5G series is now three smartphones – the Lite and Neo join the flagship X2 Pro at $749/999/1599.
Let me tell you we love the OPPO Find X2 Pro – its everything you could want in a 5G, Qualcomm SD865 powered flagship. Our full review will be out soon but it scored 4.9/5.
We hope to review all the OPPO Find X2 5G series although there is not much difference between the Lite and Neo save memory. As these are not micro-SD expandable, that may be the decider.
The OPPO Find X2 Lite and Neo use the acclaimed Qualcomm SD765 (overview of the SD765/768 here). So far it is the only SoC that has NSA sub-6GHz (Australia) and SA mmWave for the most comprehensive 5G coverage – where, when or if ever you can get it. You will see it in Nokia, Motorola and other mid-range devices.
However just because it can do NSA and SA does not mean it will – it depends on Qualcomm licensing and at the Neo and Lite’s keen pricing its SNA n78 only at this time.
OPPO, however, is the first to the Australian market with two 5G phones under $1,000.

OPPO Australia Managing Director, Michael Tran said
“The Find X2 Pro, Neo and Lite devices all offer a premium smartphone experience to suit various budgets and uses. As the 5G network matures and its adoption increases, the smartphone will become even more important in our daily lives. With many features mirroring the industry-leading Find X2 Pro, the $799 X2 Lite offers a superb experience. Aussies have the chance to access 5G and the latest smartphone technology without a huge 5G price penalty.”

GadgetGuy’s take – The OPPO Find X2 5G series fills several niches
Look, we all love a BMW or Roller, but the fact is that we have to drive what we can afford. The X2 Pro is close to perfect (lacking only a MicroSD slot) that it ranks 4.0/5 and it costs $1599.
But the great bulk – Joe and Jane Average – drive Toyotas. Think of the X2 Pro as the Lexus (with a bigger engine), the Neo as the Camry and the Lite as a Corolla (with the same engine).
But one last word. 5G is not the reason to buy a phone unless you have the mythical reception and a use case. The great bulk of us do not have 5G access and won’t for many years. 5G is purely marketing hype and nowhere near a useful, let alone fast network for us all.
At least the price premium for a decent handset is now almost on par with a decent 4G handset.
