What, you ask is a Samsung Lifestyle Smart Monitor? Well, it is a monitor with brains that allows it to do many things without a connected PC, laptop, Android or Mac. In many cases it may be all a smart person needs!
Samsung calls the Samsung Lifestyle Smart Monitor the World’s 1st Do-It-All Screen.
For example, a Samsung Lifestyle Smart Monitor can remote connect to Microsoft 365 and OneDrive or remote connect to another computer at home or in the office. Or it has a Smart Hub and a comprehensive entertainment hub, similar to Samsung’s built-in Smart TV platform.
The Samsung Smart Monitor keeps-up with the evolving way that we need our technology to perform in our homes. People no longer have to choose between a screen for work and learning and another for enjoying TV, movies and more. Using the M7 and M5 Smart Monitors you can get work done without a PC using Microsoft Office 365, remote access or via DeX, then switch to entertainment with the on-board Smart Hub that comes with your favourite streaming services.”

GadgetGuy’s take
Before we get carried away with the concept, Samsung Lifestyle Smart Monitors can also connect to a computing device that can do pretty well everything and more than it does. So, the proof of market acceptance will be if the price difference between a smart and dumb monitor is not too large.
Surprisingly that difference is not much so it then comes down to use cases. I suspect that given it’s a Samsung quality VA panel and with stereo speakers, they should be on to a winner.
