Do you have a 3D TV and projector that relies on active shutter technology, but requires different glasses? That’s a problem with active 3D, and while passive 3D is gradually taking over, one company has found a solution for those of you with active 3D TVs.
Australia’s Laser is releasing a pair of universal 3D active shutter glasses that can scan for the right frequency sent out by various makes of TV and projector, and use a long-life lithium battery with two hours of charging that offer up to 40 hours of playback.
Laser told GadgetGuy this week that the glasses have been tested with many models and brands, and while it wouldn’t name any specific sets, were told they were compatible with active 3D displays from Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, and Philips.
Universal compatibility comes at near the same price as the stock glasses from the maker of the 3D TV, though, with Laser saying the active glasses will land in retail now for $129.95.
